and Emmelyn Stewart both hit the 80-year-old mark in June, but the celebration had to wait until August when family and friends travelled from New York, Atlanta and Florida, to surprise them at a function at the Terra Nova Hotel in St Andrew last Saturday.
The celebration was even sweeter as the couple celebrated 48 years of marriage on August 6.
