The trial of entertainer Horace ‘LA’ Lewis for breaching the Toll Road Act failed to get under way in the St Catherine Parish Court today.
The matter could not proceed because surveillance footage of the incident was only made available today.
The case was pushed back to June 24.
When asked by the judge, Lewis indicated that he still plans to represent himself.
“I am pleased with the process so far, it is slow but I will be victorious,” he said outside the court
Lewis was charged after he recorded and published a video on social media in which he was seen breaching a toll barrier.
It is alleged that on April 30 last year Lewis drove through the toll plaza in Portmore, St Catherine twice without paying and damaged the barrier in the process.
He was arrested on a warrant at the Norman Manley International Airport and subsequently charged.
Lewis, who is out on $200,000 bail, has pleaded not guilty to one count of toll evasion and two counts of forcible damage to toll road property.
He previously pleaded guilty to one count of toll evasion and was fined $10,000.
