Meet Our Founder

Karibbean Vibez Radio Network is an online-based community/family-oriented radio station.

Karibben Vibez Radio Network was founded by Christopher (Chris) Whilby. Born and raised on the beautiful, sunny island of Jamaica and being the youngest of five sisters and two brothers Chris was placed in a unique position. As the baby in the family, he was surrounded by siblings who were
always engaged in multiple discussions with topics ranging from politics, family, current affairs and religion.

Chris was an intelligent, articulate child who happily engaged in the many family discussions amongst his parents and siblings. As an adult became the architect of many stimulating discussions among his peers; politics, current affairs, religion, relationships – you name it! Chris was in it!

It became very obvious to friends, colleagues and family; Chris’s passion was communication. He was being gently nudged to find an outlet where he could take his ideas to the masses; the nudging soon became a crescendo of requests.

As a result of his love for energizing discussions and a need to connect the Jamaican diaspora, the radio talk show “The Jamaican Connection” (TJC Radio) was born, through the online platform Mixlr. Here he was able to reach millions of people all over the globe. The talk show opened the doors to a new world and he began connecting with influential people within the entertainment and media industry.

The name “The Jamaican Connection” did not match Chris’s vision which was to serve a global community especially within the Caribbean. This disconnection prompted Chris and his creative team to coin the name ‘Karibbean Vibez Radio’ and Chris took on the moniker ‘The Vibez Master’

Over the years; Vibez Master’s love for music, people, information and communication, resulted in successful business partnerships and multiple relationships within the entertainment industry. As a result of his tenacity the station once called Karibbean Vibez Radio’ has morphed into Karibbean Vibez Radio’Network’ (KVRN)
